    A Friendly Local Bar

Post by Bloo on Fri Aug 30, 2013 7:36 pm

Kaname hadn't gotten too far away from his house when he let out a sigh and turned around. He decided he'd go back to the meeting area and talk to the Mattress Man now. Best to get it over with as soon as possible instead of putting it off and making the zombie find him.

    "Che. Too many obligations..."

Kaname mumbled, thinking back to the woman in his apartment. Why'd he even let her in again? He couldn't come up with a single good reason, but it was too late to change now. He was coming up on The Dive. It didn't look like the kind of place you'd have a business meeting, but that's what made it so perfect. And he liked it here. He pushed the door open, noting that it looked like it was about to start raining. He wasn't going to enjoy the walk home. He walked to the back corner of the bar, keeping his head down so his hair covered his face as he scanned the bar for anyone sketchy. It was rather quiet, probably because it was a weekday and all the party goers were in bed.

    "Can I get yah anythin'?"

Kaname glanced at his waitress. She was young, probably too young to drink the alcohol she served, but so was he so he couldn't really judge her. He couldn't help but notice the way she leaned into him. He got attention like this often, and had become a master at brushing it off, so he did.

"How 'bout an order of fries and a cherry coke?"

He worded it like a question, but he immediately pulled out his iPod and started scrolling through it, giving the hint that he didn't want to chat. He hoped the Mattress Man would get here soon. He didn't like public places much.

Ares had managed to contain his frustration with the first target for long enough to keep up the part he wanted to play. He figured it'd be harder to corner that man, but that didn't change the fact that his introduction seemed to make no progress at all. Ares was looking to blow off some steam, and he knew just the place to do it. And he was lucky that it'd also be worth putting overtime in for. He was off to meet his second target. Kaname Godfrey, a quick run through the cities facial recognition program had told him. This one seemed violent. Destroying a car, then sending that same car and it's driver soaring down the road after the man had miraculously survived. In Ares years he'd found that the best way to fight violence was with harsh violence of his own. So when he walked into the bar and spotted his new target sitting in the corner alone with a drink and a snack in front of him, it was hard to suppress his sadistic grin as he again activated his power suppressing device, disabling the loud ring it also produced. He went straight to the table, pulling the chair out with no invitation and sitting, staring into Kaname Godfrey's eyes with a grin.

"I am Commander Ares, new head of the Alacritas military. I saw your incident earlier today, and have to say I am not pleased. I don't appreciate such ruckus in my city, boy."

Ares was faster than the kid could ever hope to be without his powers, so when he reached out and put his hand around Kaname's throat, the boy couldn't even react. They did draw the attention of the entire bar, though. He specifically noticed the staffs fearful eyes. Ares gave them a reassuring smile as he reached into his coat pocket and pulled out his badged, then he told them it was official business as he dragged Kaname out of the bar and into the alley next to it, out of sight from wandering eyes. He stood between his target and the real world with his arms crossed.

"I've spent a lot of time researching you, kid, and as a result I've pretty much determined there's no easy way to get you to agree with the terms of my newest law of Alacritas city. I'm going to need a generous donation of your blood, and a detailed description of your powers. Luckily, I've figured out how to get both."

Kaname hadn't noticed the newcomers until he felt the effects of their suppression field. His vision seemed to blur, the noises in the room seemed to get quieter... hell, even the drink in his hand felt heavier. He was baffled. He wasn't sure what was going on for a brief moment until it hit him. It was his powers, they had turned off and he was just now realizing all of the things he subconsciously used his powers for. He redirected sound waves to make him hear better, his eyes never had to adjust to the lightness of the room because he redirected their rays away from his red iris', allowing him to see more in the poorly lit bar. It was a harsh awakening to see what it felt like to be truly human, he thought, trying to focus on the man who was pulling the seat out in front of him. Kaname shut his eyes tight and shook his head as he begun speaking. It seemed as though the man was trying to lecture Kaname on his incident with the Mattress Man.

"I don't think he's planning on pressing charges, heh."

Kaname mumbled out through gritted teeth, trying to contain himself. He knew that in his current state, he was nearly defenseless and searched for a way to even the odds. He may be debilitated, but he was still insanely smart, and he used all of his focus to try and find the source of the power suppression field. It didn't take a genius to figure it was coming from the man in front of him, but ho- his thoughts were interrupted when the mans hand clasped around his throat, causing Kaname to immediately lurch, and grab the mans wrist to no avail. He couldn't fight back the coughs as he tried his best to gasp for air. He was uneasy being touched by other people, rarely ever did anyone try. Since when he was a kid, anyone who did try had their hands broken from his power. Luckily now he could prevent that now... but it didn't even matter, because he had no power to speak of. Next thing he knew, Kaname was in the alley next to the bar. It had started raining, to make matters even worse. Kaname couldn't remember a time in his lie where the rain actually touched him. Usually he used his power to push it aside... the thought was rather creepy.

"You ain't gettin' shit from me, buddy."

Kaname thought fast, looking around the alley and managing to spot a garbage can. He wasn't very remarkable in terms of physical strength, so he knew better than to try and attack the trained soldier with the can, instead he sprinted to his feet, grabbed the can, and threw it clean through the side window of the empty store next to the bar. The glass shattered, and Kaname jumped through it, taking off at a full sprint trying to find an escape. If he could get out of the range of the suppression field, he was sure he could make short work of the man...

Commander Ares frowned at the boys surprisingly thought out response. He half expected the kid to try and fight him, despite the disadvantages, but was amused to see that there was some intelligence to the boy. He was probably trying to outrun the suppression field. Smart, but pointless. Ares pulled from his coat his favorite weapon, a small handgun that he kept on him for situations like this. He aimed at the fleeing figure and shot, the bullet easily going clean through Kaname's kneecap and making him drop. Ares stepped through the window, approaching the fallen boy and ignoring the grunts of pain the kid made as he struggled to get up. He stepped in front of Kaname and gave a simple kick to the front of the kids face, and it made him fly at an inhuman rate, crashing back through the window and right back into the alley they started in.

"I kind of hoped you'd do something stupid."

He followed the bleeding target out into the alley, noticing the damage his kick had done. The kids nose was bleeding, but he was still trying to get up. Ares drew his gun and shot the kid again, this time in his abdomen, causing a lot of blood to flow out freely. It was at this point that two more soldiers rounded into the alley, staring expectantly at Ares. Ares sighed, and pulled out a small vial. He picked Kaname up again, by the throat, and held the vial to his fresh bullet wound, getting the bloody he wanted. He glanced at the soldiers as he delivered a knee to Kaname's stomach, making the kid drop, coughing blood from his mouth.

"I still need to see his powers in more detail to know if we could use them. I'll leave the suppression device to you. He's defenseless without his powers, and this wounded. Make sure he stays here. If he moves around, hit him until he stops, but try to keep him alive. I'm sending a car to pick him up and take him to the testing facility. It should be here soon."

He pulled the device that looked like a T.V. remote out of his pocket and handed it to the soldiers, walking back to his vehicle that he'd arrived in and pulling out. He had a lot of work to do, and getting the blood of Kaname Godfrey was just a small burden off his shoulders.

    ---

The soldiers smiled as they heard their new orders. One held the device high in the air, inspecting it with genuine curiosity.

"So this is all it takes to make someone as dangerous as that kid powerless, eh? A simple device like this..."

He remarked loudly, not looking around to see if anyone could even hear him, or caring much if they did. The other soldier had more of a mean streak, and went to Kaname, who was on the ground bleeding badly. Kaname tried to get up, so the soldier started stomping on him. It was a rather gruesome sight.

Peeking around the corner was a pair of pastel blue eyes, and half of a Celtic-skinned face, framed by pale pink hair.

Asami had been watching for a few minutes, feeling rather conflicted about the scene before her. She felt fine, but she knew from watching the scene play out that the remote was the item making the man weaker.

She had the training she had done with her father, and she knew that she could take both of those men with ease...

Her heart fluttered nervously in her chest. Not good. One of the soldiers looked like he was trying to squash the poor man like a bug! Her fear for the man's safety suddenly made her angry.

Asami only felt anger when she saw scenes such as this, where someone who was already weakened was being picked on. Gathering her wits and her courage she silently crept into the alleyway. She looked behind her. Good. The car was gone. That meant that creep was probably far off by now. She moved swiftly towards the man holding the remote.

Her eyes wandered briefly, taking note of everything around her, she held a breath. If she breathed now, the man would notice her. Asami reached up carefully, her every movement subtle. The idiot was holding the thing up to look at it, making it an easy target.

    Three... two... one...

She stood on her tip toes and nimbly snatched the remote. Next she darted around the soldier she had taken the remote from, and rushed up behind the soldier bullying the already injured man. She lined up her kick, and swung the point of her toes at the man's groin. Sure, it was a shot that was below the belt in many ways, but she wasn't going to play fair with a pair of bullies.

Asami backed up a bit to give herself space, at which point she dropped the remote, lifted her heel, and brought it down heavily, the device splintering at the impact. Just to be sure, she ground her heel into it, swiveling her ankle to displace the pieces before she finally piped up in a steady, curious voice.

I suppose you two soldiers aren't the merciful types? Shame on you.

She clicked her tongue like a mother chastising her children.

Kaname was vaguely aware of what was going on around him. The mix of crippling pain from his wounds, the loss of his powers and exposure to the real world, and not to mention the loss of blood was more than enough to stifle any witty comeback that he had for Ares as the man disappeared. The beating didn't stop after Ares left, it was continued by what Kaname guessed to be his lackeys. But then it stopped, and Kaname struggled to push off the ground in his beaten state. Shortly after, Kaname felt the suppression field lift, and was caught off guard enough to fall back to the ground. The return of his powers felt like he'd been pulled out of the deeps depths of the sea and returned to land. He could see, breathe, and hear again. It was as if he was born again. He quickly accessed the damage to his body. It was bad, but he could work on it. He reversed the flow of his blood to prevent anymore blood loss, but the damage had been done and his eyes remained blurry and his body weak.

    "Shit... shit... shit..."

He cursed softly to himself, trying to get the taste of blood out of his mouth. That's when he saw the soldier next to him starting to get up, and Kaname then turned his attention forward, and saw a young girl standing over the remains of the suppression field device. He smiled wide, glad that the wretched machine was out of the picture, and he wasn't planning on being saved like a helpless victim. He needed to return the damage ten fold. He lifted his fist off of the ground a few inches, at most 3 inches, then brought it down full force, using his power to amplify it and send the shock wave throughout the entire alley. Everything seemed to shake with his power, wall cracked and the ground crumbled, causing the soldier to fall back down instead of pull himself up. The glass on the buildings around them shattered, making it rain shards of the sharp matter down on them. Kaname again pushed off the ground, appearing where he first say the young girl who saved him. The raining glass avoided them inhumanly, Kaname using his power to redirect their path. The soldiers, on the other hand, found themselves torn by the sharp glass. Kaname was standing close to the girl, so he spoke softly, so only she could hear.

"You might want to close your eyes. I don't like slaughtering people in front of a lady, especially one so young, but I'm afraid I can't let these guys get away."

Kaname left it at that, not the kind of guy who liked to be long winded. He turned towards the soldiers, his back to the lady, and he limped forward, ignoring the pain that shot through his leg as he did. The first soldier raised his gun and fired at Kaname, but the bullets path redirected, going straight back to the soldier. His death was quick, and relatively painless. It was a courtesy that Kaname deemed the soldier worthy of, considering he never laid a hand on him. The other soldier, however, had beaten the crap out of him. His death wouldn't be so kind. Kaname walked up to him, and reached out his finger with a sadistic grin. He reversed the flow of blood in the mans body completely. The man convulsed, his body not designed for such a torture, then fell to the ground shortly after, motionless. Kaname looked back over his shoulder, his grin still on his face, but when he made eye contact with the lady, it fell. He didn't like his savior seeing him so crazy.

    "...sorry."

He mumbled out, almost inaudibly as he fell to his knees, clutching the wound in his stomach. It was even worse than he thought, and all of his moving did nothing to help him. He tried his best to concentrate and use his power to keep his blood inside him, but it took a lot of focus, and he'd lost a lot of blood and was lightheaded already.

The man was up in moments. Good. At least now she felt a little bit better.

He instructed her to close her eyes, but instead she stood and watched, doe-eyed like a fascinated child. For a seventeen year old, she really had a childish air about her, although she wasn't lacking in the shape of a developing female. She watched steadily, never flinching or cringing as the scene played out. She had seen worse than this.

Hell, she had had the displeasure of walking in on her Aunt Shugo devouring a still living man's leg as the poor creature was left to bleed out in the corner. All she remembered after that was scolding her Aunt, and then she saw stars and everything had gone gray for a while. Of course afterwards she had learned that her Father had beat Shugo down within an inch of her life. All's well that ends well, right?

Shaking off her distracted thoughts, she zoned back in just in time to hear the man mumble a faint 'Sorry.' before dropping like a stone to his knees. Focused once more, she crouched down beside him, not looking as if she minded the blood that got on her hands as she pressed a hand to one of his wounds. She drew in a long, deep breath, and visualized the tissue and sinew sticking back together, going carefully to make sure she didn't make an error. The strain on his power would ease as his blood sapped back into his veins, which had healed quickly. Good. Now that the arteries and veins were checked and patched, she could focus on the flesh in a more leisurely manner, but it would be a bit slower.

Of course... this sort of healing wasn't without discomfort, seeing as the man was not anesthetized, and would therefor feel the pressure of each movement. Asami did her best to numb the pain that might still linger as well, but that was less important at the moment.

The healing would take another few moments, so it was all she could do to hang tight. After a while she finally broke the silence by clearing her throat, and chirping.

    Asami Sinaura.

It could only be assumed that that was her name, seeing as she gave no other explanation. Quickly she added.

It doesn't serve you well, trying to tell the girl who just saved you what do to.

Referring to the point at which he told her to avert her gaze. A hint of amusement tinged her smooth voice, along with a mocking edge to make sure he knew she was only teasing.

Kaname was surprised to see that the girl seemed to have no problem with the blood and death that he'd caused in his search for revenge. She seemed to be strange, herself. Who the hell had he stumbled into this time? This day just insisted on getting more and more strange. Kaname wasn't sure if it irritated him or intrigued him. Then the girl started using a strange power to heal his wounds. He was grateful for the relief, because he knew for a fact he was really close to actually dying here, but he couldn't enjoy the feeling for too long. He couldn't let her power be exposed. He grabbed her hand shortly after she started.

    "Stop."

He said through clenched teeth, against his own will. He knew he was healed enough to be stable, at least for now. He looked up to the sky for a moment, realizing the rain was still hitting him. It was strange, but he let it happen. It was different, but not in a bad way.

"You... can't show that you have a power... or they'll come... after you, too. We need to leave the city... first."

Talking still brought more pain to his partially healed injuries. He didn't want to think what moving would be like, seeing the wound on his leg. It was bound to hurt just to stand, without the adrenaline to support him. Ignoring the thought, he pushed himself off the ground, stumbling, but he caught himself on the still damaged wall. He spit to the side, a little blood still in his mouth. He then pulled his jacket off, trying not too look at Asami. It was a little embarrassing to be stripping in front of her, but he had to. He took his shirt off next. He tied his shirt around his leg, binding tightly against the wound. Next he put the jacket around the wound in his stomach. That wound was just above his belt, but the jacket bound against it tightly, stopping the blood rather nicely.

"Kaname Godfrey. Can I bug you long enough to help me out of the city, and finish healing my wounds? I know it's a burden, but I'll pay you back for it."

Kaname tried his best to ask nicely and flashed a smile hoping it'd help his case, it was something he rarely attempted. Being polite wasn't his style, but he knew he wouldn't be able to walk without assistance, and he couldn't go to a hospital. They'd be looking for him there. This really was a crazy night.

I pulled up to the bar, after having had to search around a while to find it. That assassin kid had better give better descriptions of places next time, because I was sure as hell lost. As I drove by, though, I glanced down an alleyway and saw a sight that made me kind of, well, stop the car. Wat?

After observing the scene for a moment, I sighed, rolled down my window so the two in the alley could see me, and said Fancy how we keep running into each other like this. It's almost like it was planned. Need a lift?

He stopped her. She was not a fan of that. He was not healed completely, and Asami hated half-measures. Asami blinked, and let out a heavy huff.

    "What do you mean stop--"

She froze as he finished his second statement. Right. After a mental self-kicking for her carelessness, she automatically stood up, and helped to balance Kaname. Asami reminded herself that half-measures were not acceptable under any circumstances.

That... and she had moral issues with ditching a wounded man to be tracked down and pummeled.

After a moment, Asami stepped away, and picked up the crushed shell and remains of the remote. Her father would probably be interested to see it, even if it was banged up.

As soon as she had retrieved the remote she moved back over to Kaname, smiled warmly, and replied.

"It is no trouble at all, Kaname!"

She waved her hand dismissively and looped his arm around her shoulders and stood up to help him support a bit more weight in his weakened state.

Asami glanced up in time to see a car, and she looked at Kaname, and then at the car, quirking one eyebrow as if to question if the two knew one another personally.

Kaname was glad that the girl understood why he had to hide her healing power without too much confusion. Kaname refused to find himself in this situation again. He'd have to be more careful, and he'd have to figure out what in the hell that device was. He noticed that Asami grabbed the smashed device and nodded slightly. The girl was smart. They'd need to figure out what made that device work... well, he'd need to at least. He wasn't sure if the girl would be in this for the long run, but for now they were a team. It was at that moment that the Mattress Man pulled up in his car and noticed the bloody scene. Kaname was actually rather relieved to see the man, not wanting to walk the whole way out of the town. He briefly wondered if it'd be safe for the other man to be seen with Kaname here, but pushed the thought aside. As long as they didn't know about his powers, it'd be fine. Kaname limped towards the car, using the wall to support his injured leg.

"...You're a little late, Mattress Man. We're heading out of town. This city is wired, and I don't know where they have cameras and where they don't. I hate to say it, but I think I'm going to have to put our business on hold for now. I have my own problems that I need to take care of at the moment, in fact I think it may be something you want to hear because it might effect you if it gets leaked that you have a power. I can tell you on the way, if the offer to give us a lift still stands?"

Kaname knew he was being rather bold, asking the man for a ride even after he canceled the plans they'd arranged, but he didn't have much options, and didn't want to try being polite again. It was weird enough the first time. He glanced back to Asami, noticing her confusion and feeling obligated to fill her in. He spoke softly, so Roy wouldn't have to listen to the redundant story.

"I know him, though I'm sure you figured that out. I came here to talk to him about some business. He was gonna sell me a new mattress, actually. That's why I called him Mattress Man. That, and I never asked for his real name..."

I tapped out a quick jingle on my wheel, waiting for them to come to a conclusion. Eventually, one was reached.

I can get you out of the city easy. Hop in.

I began to hum to myself while waiting for them to enter the car.

Kaname gave a slight sigh of relief at Mattress Man's response. He really didn't want to walk the full way in his condition, it'd be too much of a pain, honestly. He opened the back door of the car, not really wanting to squeeze into the front with his hurt leg. He sat down and scooted back, careful not to leave a blood stain where Asami would have to sit. He stretched his leg across the seat and sat tall, so there'd still be room on the end for the girl, but he'd be able to keep his leg elevated. He felt a little uncomfortable, but still relieved to be out of the rain. He was starting to shiver, his body less clothed than it should have been and the loss of blood. It'd suck to die from hypothermia after surviving that mess, but he figured he'd just have to deal with the shivering for now.

"Head towards the forest entrance. That should be the easiest place for us to sneak into, and the hardest place for them to track us down."

Kaname was still thinking as he looked out the window, inspecting for any cameras as he tried to ignore the cold wind on his bare wet back. He was tempted to ask the girl for more healing in the cover of the car, but it was too much of a risk. He didn't know if they had x-ray cameras of anything of the sort. He'd hold out until they reached the forest. He'd wait for Asami to get in and get seated before he started his explanation of what had just happened.

"I was waiting for you in the bar, Mattress Man, when some guy walks in and I feel my control over my powers leave. He had a device that made my powers useless. He came up to me and pulled me out of the bar. He said he was searching the city for anyone that had special powers. He wants a sample of our blood and a detailed description of our powers. I imagine they're trying to weaponize it, or use it to cure diseases or some shit. Point is, they're more than willing to take what they want by force if you don't give it up right away. He took my blood."

Kaname scuffed at the thought, turning his attention to the window again. He knew he had to strike back before they came after him again, but he'd need to find a way to get rid of his advantages. He'd need to learn who this guy was, and figure a way to kill him.

"I get it if you don't want to stick your nose in it, Mattress Man, but I can't let this fly. He started a war with me that I plan on putting an end to. I just figured you'd want a heads up. If you want, you can just drop us off somewhere an that'll be the end of it for you."

Asami listening carefully as she eased into the car. Luckily, she didn't take up too much room. After Kaname had finished speaking, Asami piped up sheepishly.

"We could always go to my dad."

She began her offer tentatively, but quickly grew excited.

"If he knows about all this craziness already, then he would have had all the cameras and spying opportunities on the property obliterated. And if he doesn't know yet, then we can fill him in, and we will be a whole lot more protected there. That way I can finish healing you with at least some guarantee of safety for all of us..."

Towards the end, she trailed off, worried that they might shoot down her idea. Her father's estate was the most secure place they could be for the moment, and although for the moment they were safe from other power-endowed persons, they were not out of the range of any cameras that she was sure were scattered everywhere after hearing Kaname's description of the situation.

Asami hated it. Seeing the blood, and seeing someone in pain, and not being able to help. It was like putting a wounded bird in front of a veterinarian, and then telling the vet that they had to wait and see if the poor thing would survive long enough to even get the chance at medical care...

With a shudder, she noted that the man was shaking. She would have to ask about his powers later, but for now it didn't matter. The rain had chilled him, Asami knew that much. So with a hangdog expression she tried to carefully shift clear of his wounds and eased him over on the seat a bit. She sat down and coiled her arms around him. She hadn't been in the rain for nearly as long as he had, so at least she could offer body heat. It was all Asami could think to do.

Well, I was thinking about going back to my place, but it's probably true that his place is better and safer than mine, especially with the mention of the word estate. I just live in a little house in the woods. Nothing too fancy. I dunno how to get to your dad's place though, so you'll have to inform me about that little detail.

As I began to drive, I just kind of went. We weren't particularly close to any edge of the city at our current location, so she had plenty of time to tell me where to go. I just awaited orders as the chauffeur.

OOC: I'm sorry my posts have been so small. I should be able to amp them up in size and detail soon.

Asami's cell phone would suddenly ring, signifying it was her father on his untraceable cell phone.

    Spoiler:
Asa-chan? It's me. I want you to come home immediately. Don't panic, but please be quick about it. And don't show any of your talents in the city. I love you, goodbye.

If she didn't pick up, she instead would get a voice message of the same content.

Her cell phone rang. Only two people ever actually called her. Her father, and her Aunt Shugo, and last Asami had checked, Shugo was too busy drinking to worry too much about where Asami had headed off to. So that left her dad.

She picked up the phone without hesitation and listened carefully as he spoke. This whole situation made her head spin. She put on her best and sweetest Daddy's girl voice and chirped.

Yeah, I'm on my way. Oh... also.... I'm bringing some friends. They should be able to help.

She couldn't handle the thought of him saying no, so she quickly added.

Can't really talk right now, gotta give someone directions to the house. Love you, daddy~!

She shut the phone, ending the call with a soft click.

Still holding her arms tight around Kaname, she turned her head to the driver and smiled. With ease she relayed the location of the house, and the quickest way to get there. She briefly wondered why the device had not affected her... odd. Oh well.

Kaname was pleasantly surprised when the cold was stopped as the girl cuddled up to him. At first he wasn't sure what was going on, and isn't proud to admit he had to hide a blush, but then he realized that it was for the body heat and he calmed down. His shivering died down shortly after, and he went back to staring out of the window with bored eyes until the girls phone rang. Kaname was close enough to hear both sides of the conversation, and quickly figured out it was her dad on the line.

Great, I've already gotta meet the family...

The thought crossed through Kaname's head before he could even realize what he was thinking. It almost sounded as if he was meeting his girlfriends dad. Awkward. He figured he'd just let the thought die as he shifted slightly, careful not to disturb Asami.

"Sounds like a decent enough plan. Let's just hope we're all welcome."

Not that Kaname cared much for permissions. He was going to the woods one way or another and nobody could kick him out, but he'd prefer not to have to assault Asami's father.

The bar was quite a ways away, and tracking the suited man was a pain since he looked as if he was lost himself. Jumping across the rooftops, Dorian finally spotted the bar. The neon sign with the words "THE DIVE" with a man diving off the E on the end, hung above the door. The rain made it difficult to remain undetectable since one would be able to see the rain running down his clothes if they looked hard enough.

He spied down into the parking lot, and the surrounding area. The suited man must have come and went already. He would need a closer look, maybe he was still inside. Dorian made his way down to the street level to peer into a window, but as he passed by the alleyway, he saw the two dead bodies, of what looked like soldiers, and a third pool of blood.

Cautiously, the invisible ninja entered the alleyway to inspect the seen. He wouldn't be surprised if this had something to do with the suit man and his accomplice. The man's target for this hired assassin might have gotten a whiff of his plan, and decided to take a counter measure, but it looks like it backfired. Slowly, Dorian began to break down the scene, and figure out what happened. He wasn't going to find the suited man now.

It wasn't long after the invisible ninja arrived that the black humvee that was there before returned. It came to a skidding stop, it had obviously been going well over the speed limit, and it stopped at the small entrance to the alley, blocking it. The second before the door opened, the power suppression field could be felt by the sneaky ninja. When the door did open, Commander Ares stepped out. He looked less than pleased with the dead bodies and the state of the alley, which was destroyed and shaken everywhere, but didn't seem to give them too much attention. He'd still gotten what he wanted... plus a little extra, he thought as he turned to the newly made visible man.

"I was wondering if you would show up. I've been wondering if you were lurking around when I've made my rounds. I had a little bet with my Lieutenant, he said he was pretty sure you were a teleporter. I guessed you were a chameleon of sorts, and could hide your presence like that. It's alright, though, I'm prepared for both instances."

Ares put his hands in his pockets, pleased to see that the rain had stopped. He hated the rain. He reached his hand out to the man, hoping he'd be civil and give him a handshake.

"...so which is it? Are you a teleporter, or an invisible man? I'm a little jealous of your abilities, I'm just a regular person. I have to use things like my field of suppression to do my job."

Ares disliked going into a situation without all of the information, and he'd hoped that the man hadn't been able to gather too much information about Ares himself without him noticing. He'd have to be more careful from now on.

"Speaking of my job, I should introduce myself. I am Ares Ryker, new Commander of the Alacritas military force. These are my men, they've seen better days. They were murdered by a criminal who seems to have some special powers like you. I was hoping you'd be willing to help me locate this man. Would you be willing to do that?"

There wasn't much to say. Who ever lost all that blood wouldn't have been able to take on two soldiers on their own, even if they were an ability user. Since there were no signs of unnecessary blood splatter, so a blood ability user was also out of the question. There must have been a third party involved, which could have been the suited man Dorian was tailing. There were small traces of bloody footprints leading back out of the alley, so that must have been back to the mans car and off they went. All in all, not much he could gather from what was left, that and the rain washed away quite of a bit of evidence.

Dorian did one last circle around the scene when he could hear a speeding vehicle coming down the road, he paid it no mind until it came to a screeching stop at the exit. No sirens, just an military hummer. A moment before the doors opened, Dorian felt exposed, he looked down to his body, and realized he was revealed again. When the doors did open, the ninja was surprised to see the short and young man step out with a surprisingly commanding aura.

    "So you were expecting me."

I shouldn't have revealed myself on the street.

He thought to himself as he cautiously looked down at the extended hand. With that entrance, he definitely wasn't going to casually touch the short man like that. He remained motionless as his gaze rose back to the young man's face.

"If you were watching me so intently, I'm sure you've figured it out by now. It would be silly for me to just teleport to the scene just as you arrive, and have no idea who you are."

Dorian's stern gaze threatened to pierce through the Commander's own formidable aura. Although, it was not a stare of hostility or aggression, but caution.

"Well Ares, my name is Dorian. Now what are your men doing murdered by a man on the brink of death, in a dirty alleyway next to a bar, and why are you watching me so closely?"

The white clad ninja wasn't going to give an answer just yet. True he wanted justice, but he couldn't know for sure if the man fought for justice himself, but he could at least give him the courtesy of a name since he introduced himself so formally. For now he would have to bide his time, and drag out as much information about this Ares man, and what happened in this alleyway. He felt some of his strength leave him as well when he lost his invisibility, so he was going to have to talk his way out of this one.

Ares lowered his hand with a frown, displeased that the man didn't take his peace offering. He crossed his arms and looked around the scene. He'd already known what had happened here. He watched it happen, and got himself a nice description of the escaped targets powers that way.

"I wasn't expecting you, exactly. I was expecting you eventually, sure. I didn't know you'd be here though. I'm trying to follow the same man you've been tailing is the reason I'm not surprised by you. I saw you in his trails in the street, as I'm sure you guessed. We weren't sure if you appearing was out of teleportation or if it was invisibility and you were there the whole time. But invisibility it is. How do you do it, I wonder?"

Ares stepped a little closer, so he could inspect the damage as Dorian questioned why his men were even here in the first place. It was mostly for display, he'd seen what happened on the cameras.

"They were supposed to keep the injured man here so I could arrive and take him into custody... you see, lately there's been in increase of violent acts in the city, committed by people with powers. That destroyed car was the result of the man who killed these soldiers. I here to talk to the young man, named Kaname Godfrey, and ask him to let us help him with his powers, so if he did snap and get violent, we'd be able to stop him. He attacked me, so we had to subdue him, not wanting to risk facing his powers. Now he's on the loose in the city, probably getting ready to attack somewhere else."

Ares sighed, as if the thought troubled him greatly. He put his palm to his forehead as if he was pushing a headache out.

"It seems he got help, too. That's why I'll need help to find him. It may also lead to the man you've been looking for, if he was the one who saved Kaname."

"I just can, I was born this way. I lost my mother because of these powers."

Dorian took a step back as the Commander stepped forward. He seemed friendly enough, and he appreciated that there were no guns pointing at him, that he could see, but being cornered in an alleyway wasn't exactly the way to gain trust.

"Maybe he attacked you because he felt threatened, just as I feel threatened now. Trapping me in an alleyway and zapping my powers isn't exactly a helpful atmosphere, but I guess I understand your caution."

Dorian wanted it to be known to Ares that his methods might be on the extreme side, but at the same time make sure that he felt comfortable that the ninja wasn't going to try anything hasty.

"When dealing with potentially violent people, you might want to adjust your tactics. Now for the scene at hand, one of these soldiers have no exterior wounds, and the other dead by a single bullet, and the only casing in this alleyway is found by his body. What exactly are this, Kaname's, powers? If you know at all."

Dorian remained motionless after his last step back, his gaze following the Commander has he inspected the scene.

"This might not be the military's problem, but the man I was tailing was plotting an assassination. Who he wants dead, I am unsure of whom, but I heard him mention this bar as the meeting place with his potential assassin. If he had stopped for an extended period of time to chat, then I would have caught up and saw him at least leaving, but there was no trace of him when I arrived. Although, I did manage to find traces of bloody foot prints leading to the street. It's very possible that this Kaname was the assassin he came to meet."

The white ninja had been thinking over the words that Ares spoke, and something seemed out of place.

"Wait, what destroyed car? When I arrived at the scene, there was only a functioning car, and I didn't see any of your hummers or your men in the area. How do you know about that?"

Ares gave a friendly smile. It almost seemed like he was going to be able to get this one on his team. He could prove useful with his information gathering skills.

"Police officers are threatening as they arrest criminals too. I wouldn't assume he deserves any better just because he has powers. From what I understand his powers are to manipulate force of some sort. I'm not sure, it seems quite... complex."

Ares commented, a little disappointed that it was the truth. His Lieutenant had done all the research on Kaname long ago, and managed to find the device with his powers already programed into it.

"The car was destroyed by Kaname Godfrey, then repaired by the man dressed in military uniform. The last report I got from these two was that they saw a car coming to the alley matching the description of that car. I saw your whole scene in the city from my cameras. We had that area monitored."

Ares clapped his hands together and the humvee rolled up a little bit, allowing them to exit the alley. He then reached out to Dorian again, this time he was holding a phone. It was a burner cellphone that already had Ares number programmed into it.

"If your investigation leads you closer to these people, please give me a call. My numbers there, and I've ensured the line is secure. Keep this phone on you, and I'll call you if I find them first. We can stop that assassination, and protect the citizens of this great city, but we'll need each other to do so. You understand?"

Dorian relaxed a little when the vehicle rolled back and opened up the alleyway once again. He managed to talk his way out of it, but he still couldn't trust the man. He could work with him, just not trust him. Dorian reached out and took the phone from Ares' hand. He opened the flip phone and found the number to be sure. No doubt that the Commander would be tracking the location of the phone as well. Recording audio wouldn't be out of the question either.

"If the man in camouflage fixed the car, then his powers must be to bend metal to his will. Simple telekinesis could bend the pieces back into shape, but not actually fix any broken parts, and that car was in good condition, except for the fact that the glass was missing and scattered all over the place."

Dorian slide the phone into the folds of his clothes, taking two steps towards the entrance of the alley.

"If you had that street monitored, then how is your cover in this area? Any leads as to where they have taken off to?"
